Dear Amstrad NC user,

I thought that the file management of the NC is a bit naff and
so I try to programm a better one. Do you know PC-Tools for
MS-DOS ? NC-Tools is a bit like this and I try hard to write a

proffesionel software! For instons: Look how I programme the
filename input at line 3780. A simpel INPUT$ command is not enav
to prevent any filename error! So it takes some weeks to
complete the programme and then test it in any kind. But
NC-Tools use firmware routines and system variables and Amstrad
can not give an absolute guarantee that they will always use
these the same locations in subsequent versions of the software.
So in prevention of data lost you better save all your files on
your Notepad before running NC-Tools the fist time and test it
by your own in al funktions!

I am still seartching someone how can make me a copy of the
firmware of his Englich NC100!!!

For copy the NC firmware ROM I wrote the programme ROMCOPY1
it automaticly produce 8 files: ROM-NC1.BIN to ROM-NC8.BIN each
32768 byte long witch holds the 256 Kbyte firmware. To run the
programme you need a RAM-card with 256 Kbyte free memory. If you
dont have 256 Kbyte free, please use ROMCOPY2!
Before you start the programme you had to switch off the "auto
power off funktion" of the NC because it takes a half houer to
run completely.

For copy the NC firmware without haveing 256 Kbyte free card
memory I wrote the programme ROMCOPY2. here you had to enter the
number of the block you want to save to RAM-card so you can
produce the 8 files (ROM-NC1.BIN to ROM-NC8.BIN each 32768 byte
long) step by step needing only 32768 byte free memory at one
time. It takes 4 minutes for each file.

And now I have a great request to you: Can you start one of this
programmes on your NC and send me this 8 files by e-mail?
